librfc32.dll troubles

Once you are working with SAP BW BEx tool and accessing different version of SAP BW you might encounter an error in BEx Query Designer says: “"Run-time error '-2147417848 (800010108)': Automation error The object invoked has disconnected from its clients".”

BEx Query Designer crashes afterwards.
Solution is to replace the RFC library librfc32.dll stored in your \WINDOWS\system32 on the client PC with a proper version depends on you SAP GUI version:

620: Version >= 6206.6.1938.4727 (620x.x.x.4727).
640: Version >= 6400.3.79.4740 (640x.x.x.4740).
710: check the newest patch of SAP GUI on SAP FTP server
.

See  this post to find out where to download librfc32.dll library.

  5. Hi There,

    is "librfc32.dll" is just front-end file or does it has anything to do with BW version, i m on BW 3.1, GUI 7.1 patch level 7. Im experiencing the same issue, is it applicable to me?? can i just implement latest patch 10 for GUI 7.1?? does it overwrite that file??

    Thanks

  8. Hi,

    Unfortunately i can't install BI patches coz my Basis lead is reluctant to that suggests we do after upgrade to BI 7.0 but i dont think its gonna happen soon.

    currently we'r on BW 3.1 SP 17. is there any work around or just uninstall 7.1 go back to 6.4.

    Thanks
    Robyn.

  10. Hi sapper,
    i develloped some VB prg to execute RFC and i've experienced same troubles, because i referenced librfc32.dll in my vb project.
    Do you know another way to link librfc32 instead of reference it?
    Regards
    Rui
